MNP - Change your mobile operator without changing your number.

Ever Since, it was announced that Mobile Number Portability to be launched, many mobile users are curious to know about it. After too many delays MNP is now a reality is available in all telecom circles  by 20th January 2011. MNP was already implemented in certain circles of india. But Allover india it will be implemented on 20th January 2011. All mobile network operators, including Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, BSNL, MTNL, Aircel, Loop, Tata Docomo etc will support Mobile Number Portability from that date. Here I have come up with a small introduction related to MNP.

What is MNP..?

With Mobile Number Portability, any one can change his/her Mobile Operator without loosing the existing number i.e. you can switch to a other Mobile Operator while retaining your mobile number. So if you want to dumb your current operator, you can switch to another operator and keep your existing mobile number using MNP service.

For Whom..?

Mobile Number Portability is boon for the ones who hate their existing Mobile Service Provider but are not willing to switch to a better Mobile Service Provider because they don't want to change their mobile number.

Promotions And Offers:

Now all the mobile network operators are confident of attracting new users. They all are promoting their brands by showing new advertisements on TV and banners about MNP service and how will they get benefit using their services. Also they are giving attractive offers when you switch to their network. BSNL has offered that if users will switch to BSNL then users will get additional 100 minutes talk-time and 1 month GPRS free of cost. Of course other companies will offer new attractive schemes to increase user count.
